What can you expect to see in handbags for the Summer 2010 season? Well, what I have seen so far is simple, plain with small subtle trims and tassels or crystal details. I think with all the prints in ladies apparel this season and all of the “Greek Goddess” inspired dresses the purse had to be played down a bit! I have noticed softer more subdued color pallets mostly in the nude range when it comes to leather goods.
Gucci has a few bold colors, with a beautiful royal blue and orange leather hobo bag with simple tassel detail and bamboo but it is still extremely simple. I like the new Louis Vuitton “Sunburst PM” in gorgeous Monogram Denim. I know, I know what you’re thinking not another MONOGRAM purse but this has a new fresh twist. The monogramming is subtle and you will be more intrigued by the bleach/tie-dye look. The Sunburst comes in two color choices, green and blue but they are not to bold, they kept it fresh and semi-soft. I have to say if I had to pick from one up scale brand this season, it would probably be Prada. I love the beautiful lines and small details that really make their bags stand out this season. The Saffiano Traforato in white with gold trim is beautiful it reminds me of lattice or lace. I like the look of the Nappa Gaufre’ collection with the leather being rouged together like a beautiful dress. The Plex Mistolino is unique and different with its clear casing on the outside and love, love, love the jewel/crystal detail they are using this season! This really helps dress up a very simple handbag and makes a bold, stylish statement! I am not however super impressed with the medium range handbags.
I think Dooney & Bourke must have misplaced their memo because they were the only one that didn’t follow the leader and went with more bright prints (like Candy stripe and Zebra sport) collections this season. Coach, still a wonderful classic has tweaked its little insignia/logo a bit but other than that, not to much to get excited about. If I were to choose/recommend one piece from Coach this season it would be the “Juilia Leather OP art Perry tote” it is the Stand out purse in a sea of “Been there, Bought that!” Juicy Couture, well what can I say, I am a fan but this season not really a collection just a lot of fun and whimsy all over the place. The one thing that caught my eye was the “Royalty Trolley carryon bag” it is a cute pink and brown print. The”Blueblood” handbag shares the same cute crown print/colors as the carryon bag but was surprised it wasn’t introduced for a fall/back to school look!
All in all some beautiful quality pieces out there that are classic enough that they will stay in style for seasons to come and you won’t question yourself in a year and say “What was I thinking when I bought that?”!

Yellows, whites and soft blues are some of the most common colors. White is obviously one of the best colors, but it may show too much dirt, so make sure it's washable or one you can wipe off easily. Some designer bag manufacturers also sell cleaners and guarantee that the cleaner will not disrupt the materials or cause any damage.
Size. If your off to the beach, you will want a bigger handbag for the beach towel, tanning lotion, sunglasses and your other necessities. If you just headed to the amusement park, then a small wristlet or clutch will suffice. Or you can opt for the bigger handbags and carry your bottled water and other items instead of getttin ga locker while you ride the rides. The bigger handbags also do double duty as travel bags.
The most common material for spring and summer handbags are canvas, cottons and straw. Although leather handbags do not offer some of the fun patterns and bright colors as the other materials. Leather is more of the most common trim found on those handbags.
Some designers have outlet stores and you often find a great deal there, such as Coach and Vera Bradley. You can also find discounters like TJMaxx, Ross Dress for Less and Amazon.com offering the same product lines.
